 The Two Moors Festival Patron Her Royal Highness The Countess of Wessex Classic FM's "Festival in the South West" that uses rural churches as venues across one thousand square miles of Exmoor and Dartmoor. What a year 2006 is proving to be. Our latest and most exciting news is that Her Royal Highness the Countess of Wessex has kindly agreed to be the festival's Patron. Clearly the Festival is growing at an incredible speed and that growth is only made possible through the generosity of many trusts, corporations and people who see it as an integral part of the region?s artistic life where, until comparatively recently and in cultural terms, the South West meant Bristol. The partnership which we have with Classic FM is outstanding proof that the Festival is going places and in the right direction too! It attracts many tourists to the area in an out-of-season period of the year and brings music at the highest possible level to very rural areas. It offers opportunities to young people to participate in all sorts of events and it gives communities across 1000 square miles of Dartmoor, Exmoor and the area in between the chance to be involved in something which is classy, but not in the slightest bit elitist. We have no doubt that Her Royal Highness's support will be of immense help in expanding this valuable work and the whole 2MF team are looking forward to an interesting 2007 and beyond.
